The Chairperson of the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), Melatwork Hailu, stated in a briefing regarding the current electoral process that vote counting has been completed at individual polling stations and the results have been posted. She announced that the aggregation of votes is now extensively underway at the constituency level.
The Chairperson explained in her statement that vote-counting processes at polling stations that had been delayed due to various reasons were successfully completed yesterday. Currently, results recorded at all polling stations have been posted for public viewing.
Following this process, vote aggregation is being carried out at the constituency level, and constituency results have begun arriving at the main electoral center, the Chairperson noted.
Accordingly, she indicated that data recorded on the result verification and completion forms are being transferred from individual polling stations to the respective constituencies.
The Board Chairperson further explained that upon reaching the constituencies, the accuracy of this data is being strictly cross-checked against the actual votes cast at the stations before the official handover is finalized.
Additionally, the statement highlighted that training for polling station verifiers, who will ensure the accuracy of the vote counting and aggregation process, has commenced as of today.
