Addis Ababa, June 10, 2026 — Fana Youth Saving and Credit Cooperative (Fana Youth SACCO) has been ranked first among the Top 30 Cooperatives Driving Financial Inclusion in Africa, according to a continental recognition announced in Maputo, Mozambique.
The recognition highlights the cooperative’s contribution to expanding access to financial services, promoting a savings culture, supporting youth and women, and strengthening economic resilience within communities.
In a related achievement, Dr. Halefom Gezaei Abera, President of Fana Youth SACCO, was ranked first among the Top 50 Most Influential Cooperative Leaders in Africa. The recognition acknowledges his leadership in advancing cooperative development, financial inclusion, and youth empowerment across the continent.
