The two-day Ethiopian tourism promotion event, organized by the Embassy of Ethiopia in Kenya in collaboration with Ethiopian Airlines, Kuriftu Resorts, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officially came to a close, leaving behind a trail of strengthened ties and promising business connections.

The second and final day of the event saw a significant influx of participants, with media organizations, tour operators, social media influencers, and notably, a large contingent from the Kenyan business community in attendance. The diverse group engaged in extensive networking and discussions centered on unlocking the vast tourism potential of Ethiopia.

Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. General Bacha Debele, emphasized that under the visionary leadership of H.E Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed tourism sector has become one of the five pillar of economy and the government has significantly invested in world class tourism destinations.
The event successfully achieved its primary goals of strengthening people-to-people ties of Ethiopia and Kenya and positioning Ethiopia as a top-of-mind destination for Kenyan travelers and investors.

Presentations on the second day reinforced the message of the “New Ethiopia,” showcasing newly developed tourism destinations Gorgora Eco Resort, Wenchi-Dendi, Shabeely Resort, Arbaminch Conference Resort, and Hallala Kella and other destinations.
As the two-day event concludes, a familiarization tour for Kenyan tour operators, social media influencers and media professionals is scheduled to allow participants to experience Ethiopia’s diverse attractions, ensuring the momentum generated in Nairobi continues to build bridges and drive visitor numbers from Kenya to Ethiopia.
