Eritrean Justice Seeking Group “Brigade Nhamedu” Expresses Solidarity with the People of Tigray at Peaceful Rally

Members of the Eritrean justice seeking movement Brigade Nhamedu participated in a peaceful rally held at Meskel Square, where they expressed solidarity with the people of Tigray.

The large scale demonstration was organized by the Tigray for Peace and Change Council and brought together participants who voiced support for the people of Tigray. During the event, members of Brigade Nhamedu attended in person and joined the gathering to convey their message of solidarity.

Participants from the Eritrean group stated that “the oppression of the people of Tigray is our oppression, and the suffering of the people of Tigray is our suffering,” emphasizing what they described as a close bond and shared interests with the people of Tigray.

Representatives of the group said their support was not a new development. They stated that throughout the Tigray conflict, Brigade Nhamedu had sought to raise international awareness about the suffering of civilians and advocate on their behalf. They also said the movement has continued to provide financial and other forms of assistance to support the people of Tigray.

Speakers at the rally described Brigade Nhamedu as a committed ally, highlighting what they said has been the group’s consistent solidarity and support during both the conflict and the post conflict period.

The event was organized by the Tigray for Peace and Change Council at Meskel Square as part of a peaceful demonstration focused on issues affecting the people of Tigray.
