Somali Region President Launches Housing Project for Low-Income Families in Jigjiga

HNH – Mustafe Omer, President of the Somali Regional State, has officially laid the foundation stone for a new housing project designed to provide decent accommodation for impoverished residents of the city.

The initiative is part of the government’s summer donation campaign, which aims to support vulnerable households and those with limited means. Each of the new residential units will feature three rooms, offering improved living conditions for beneficiary families.

It is worth noting that similar housing blocks were previously constructed on the same site, and those units are currently occupied by underprivileged families; particularly individuals with special needs, who continue to benefit from the scheme.

According to regional officials, the project aligns with the administration’s broader development strategies to bolster community self-reliance and elevate the quality of life for the poor. The government is also prioritizing the creation of sustainable services and opportunities that cater specifically to marginalized groups.
