A high-level delegation from the Afar Regional State, led by Vice President and Head of the Land Bureau Awol Nour Garba, conducted an official field visit to agricultural and agro-forestry development centers in Magale District of the Afar Region.
The delegation included senior officials from the regional, zonal, and district administrations. The visit focused on evaluating the implementation and progress of ongoing agricultural development programs and community-based farming initiatives in the area.
During the inspection tour, officials visited several agricultural production sites engaged in the cultivation of mango, papaya, and banana crops. The delegation also assessed government-supported agro-forestry projects aimed at improving environmental sustainability and expanding agricultural productivity.
Particular attention was given to Moringa production and processing centers operating in the district. Officials reviewed the role of the crop in supporting local livelihoods, food security, and community resilience programs.
According to regional officials, many of the projects visited during the tour are performing effectively and making productive use of available resources. The delegation noted that cooperation between local communities and government institutions has contributed significantly to the implementation of the initiatives.
The officials also emphasized the importance of sustaining agricultural development efforts in the region through continued public participation and coordinated institutional support.
Magale District is among the areas in Afar Region where authorities are promoting agro-forestry and diversified crop production as part of broader efforts to strengthen food security and rural economic development.
