As we celebrate the arrival of the New Year, we also wish to share an important update about our publication’s journey.
When we first began publishing under the name Tigray Herald, our primary focus was to highlight the political, social, economic, peace, security, justice, and human rights issues directly connected to Tigray. This mission remains at the very heart of our work.
However, through deep reflection and, importantly, based on thoughtful feedback from our respected readers, followers, and members of the international diplomatic community particularly in Africa and the Horn of Africa region we recognized that our scope has grown far beyond what our original name implied.
Why the Change to Horn News Hub?
Interconnected Realities
Tigray’s national security, economic interests, and geopolitical role are inseparable from broader regional dynamics. A nation’s economic strength underpins its security, and likewise, security is essential for sustainable economic growth and prosperity.
A Broader Regional Focus
Developments in the Horn of Africa and even beyond have direct impact on Tigray’s future. To reflect this, we felt it necessary to adopt a name that captures our widened perspective and strategic outlook.
Inclusive Identity
Names matter. While Tigray Herald reflected our origins, Horn News Hub better represents our inclusive editorial vision: analyzing and engaging with the political, diplomatic, and economic power dynamics of the entire Horn of Africa, while keeping Tigray’s interests at the core.
Our Guiding Principles Remain Unchanged
At Horn News Hub, we continue to stand for democracy in its fullest sense:
