Dylan Page, widely known online as News Daddy, has arrived in Ethiopia amid growing international social media interest in the country.
Page operates one of the largest news focused accounts on TikTok, with more than 19 million followers worldwide. His visit to Addis Ababa has attracted attention from Ethiopian social media users and content creators, many of whom see it as part of a broader trend of international digital influencers visiting the country.
The development follows earlier high profile visits by online personalities, including IShowSpeed, who streamed live from several locations in Addis Ababa, including Merkato and the Adwa Victory Memorial. The livestream reportedly drew hundreds of thousands of live viewers and millions of views across social media platforms.
In recent months, Ethiopia has increasingly appeared in global digital content related to tourism, culture, urban development, and historical sites. Analysts say social media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram are playing a growing role in shaping international perceptions of countries, particularly among younger audiences.
Observers note that the visibility generated by major online creators can influence tourism interest, public perception, and online discussions about Ethiopia beyond traditional media coverage.
Social media users also expressed appreciation to Adonay Berhane, who has been hosting and accompanying some international creators during their visits in Ethiopia.
