Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie, announced the inauguration of a newly developed eco-recreational public park in Addis Ketema Sub-City in a social media post this morning.
“Today, we inaugurated a new eco-multifunctional public recreation park and opened for service, creating an additional public space for our city,” the mayor said.
Located in the Asko Addis Sefer area of Addis Ketema Sub-City and covering 30,000 square meters, the newly developed park is designed as a beautiful and attractive multipurpose recreational destination serving children, youth, the elderly, and residents from all walks of life.
The park features a fountain, football field, children’s playground, amphitheater, modern cafeteria, shops, juice bar, parking area, modern showers, toilets, and wide walking pathways.
According to the mayor, the site was previously used as a garbage dumping area.Today, however, it has been transformed into a clean, refreshing, and accessible public environment.
“I entrust this multipurpose recreation park to all of you to use responsibly and protect,” Mayor Adanech said.
