Addis Ababa,June 20,2026(HNH):
Ethiopia’s Digital Ethiopia 2030 strategy is reshaping public service delivery by making government services faster, more transparent, accessible, and citizen-centered through digital technology.
The strategy enables seamless data sharing among government institutions, eliminating the need for citizens to carry documents from one office to another. This integrated digital system simplifies service delivery while improving efficiency across public institutions.
Through a unified digital platform, citizens can access a wide range of essential services including civil registration (birth and marriage certificates), passports, business licensing, and tax services from a single online portal.
Digital service delivery also saves significant time and costs by allowing citizens to access government services through websites and mobile applications, reducing travel, paperwork, and long queues.
The adoption of technology further strengthens transparency and accountability by minimizing face-to-face interactions, reducing opportunities for corruption, eliminating illegal payments, and streamlining administrative procedures.
The strategy is also improving Ethiopia’s business environment by accelerating business registration, licensing, and tax administration, making the country more attractive to both domestic and foreign investors.
In addition, integrated digital data systems provide government institutions with timely and reliable information, enabling faster, evidence-based policymaking and more effective public administration.
