Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — April 28, 2026 | Horn News Hub
A national consultative forum held under the theme “Social Development for Nation Building” has commenced in Addis Ababa, with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in attendance.

The forum brings together government officials, sector leaders, and stakeholders to assess progress made in Ethiopia’s social sectors and to outline priorities for the years ahead.
According to state media, the discussions focus on achievements recorded over the past eight years, particularly in key areas such as education, healthcare, and skills-based job creation. Participants are also reviewing developments in culture, the arts, and sports, alongside efforts aimed at advancing women’s empowerment and broader social affairs.

Organizers say the platform is intended to facilitate broad-based dialogue, enabling participants to evaluate policy outcomes, identify gaps, and propose strategies to strengthen social development as part of the country’s nation-building agenda.
The forum is expected to continue with thematic sessions and expert presentations in the coming days.
