Abiy Ahmed Holds Phone Talks with Vladimir Putin on Bilateral Relations
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said he held a productive phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin focusing on bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interest.
In a brief statement shared on his official Facebook page, the Ethiopian leader said the discussion addressed cooperation between Ethiopia and Russia as well as broader areas of shared concern.
Details of the call were not immediately disclosed. However, contacts between Addis Ababa and Moscow have grown in recent years, reflecting expanding diplomatic and economic engagement between the two countries.
Ethiopia and Russia maintain longstanding ties that include cooperation in diplomacy, trade, and security. The two countries are also working together in the field of nuclear energy as part of efforts to strengthen Ethiopia’s long term energy capacity and technological development.
