Prosperity Party Unveils Candidates for Addis Ababa Ahead of National Election

Prosperity Party has announced its candidates for the upcoming seventh national election in Addis Ababa, including Fedila Biya Abamecha, who will run for the City Council representing Kolfe Keranio Sub-City.

The announcement came during a forum organized by the party’s Addis Ababa branch to introduce candidates for both the House of Peoples’ Representatives and the City Council.

Speaking at the event, Mayor Adanech Abiebie highlighted the forum’s purpose: to strengthen coordination and ensure the party fulfills its responsibilities ahead of the election. She emphasized that the credibility of the electoral process and democratic participation are as important as the election outcome.

Moges Balcha, head of the Addis Ababa branch, said the party’s approach is rooted in the Medemer philosophy, promoting collective effort and national prosperity. He added that the candidates were selected to reflect diversity and a people-centered approach.

Fedila Biya expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her by the party and pledged to serve the public with dedication. She noted that the party’s election symbol, a wheat sheaf, represents unity, cooperation, and sovereignty.

National Election Board of Ethiopia is overseeing preparations for the seventh national election, which will determine representatives at both federal and local levels.
