Dialogue Held in Nairobi with Somali Regional State Business Community

A discussion forum was held in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together members of the Somali Regional State business community residing in the country to explore investment opportunities in the region.

The event brought together Somali Regional State Vice President Ibrahim Osman, Head of the President’s Office Hussein Hashi, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Kenya Bacha Debele, and other senior officials. The delegation met with investors and business leaders of Somali Regional origin who are currently living and working in Kenya.

During the forum, officials presented detailed information on investment opportunities available in Somali Regional State, highlighting sectors identified for growth and private sector engagement. Particular attention was given to shareholding opportunities in Shabelle Bank, with explanations provided on how members of the diaspora business community can participate as shareholders.

Participants were also briefed on the current peace and security situation in the region, as well as ongoing development activities aimed at strengthening economic growth and improving infrastructure.

According to information shared during the meeting, investors and business leaders welcomed the engagement and expressed interest in exploring the presented opportunities, including the prospect of acquiring shares in Shabelle Bank.

The forum forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the regional diaspora business community and encourage greater participation in the region’s economic development.
