Abri Motors has completed the delivery of modern electric vehicles to customers in Mekelle city through three separate rounds, marking a growing push toward electric mobility in northern Ethiopia.

The company sources electric vehicles from abroad and assembles locally. According to Abri Motors, the approach is intended to make the vehicles more affordable and better suited to local conditions. Customers are offered flexible, interest free payment options under 30/70, 40/60, and 50/50 installment arrangements.

The vehicles are designed to meet Ethiopia’s terrain and climate requirements. A significant portion of the deliveries consists of electric taxis, which officials say could help address Mekelle’s persistent public transport shortage.
