Abri Motors Donates 100,000 birr to Support Displaced People of Hitsats
Tigray, Ethiopia – Abri Motors, a sister company of the Abri Business Group, has made a significant contribution to the humanitarian crisis in northern Ethiopia. The company has donated 100,000 birr to aid the displaced residents of Hitsats, a town in Tigray’s Western Zone. The donation is part of a broader effort to address the dire situation faced by those affected by displacement and hunger.
Abrehet Ayele, Chief Operating Executive (COE) of Abri Business Group, emphasized the importance of corporate social responsibility. “Companies operating in Tigray and throughout Ethiopia should actively participate in efforts to support their communities, especially during such challenging times,” Ayele stated.

The displaced people of Hitsats, who have fled the conflict in Western Tigray, are facing severe food insecurity. The ongoing humanitarian crisis has left many struggling to meet their basic needs, with limited access to food, shelter, and medical care.
To address this urgent need, a coordinated campaign has been launched, with Ethiopians from across the country and abroad joining the effort. Various companies and individuals are contributing to provide assistance to the displaced populations.

The donation from Abri Motors is part of this collective initiative aimed at alleviating the suffering of those affected by displacement. “In these difficult times, it is essential that every sector of society plays its part,” Ayele concluded, urging further contributions to support the humanitarian efforts in Tigray.
Background: Abri Business Group’s Diversified Operations
Abri Business Group, which has been operational for over 18 years, is a key player in Ethiopia’s business landscape. The group has successfully diversified its operations across multiple sectors, including healthcare, telecommunications, real estate, agriculture, and import–export services. This broad portfolio has positioned the group as a significant contributor to the country’s economic development.

Abri Motors, as part of the group, has recently embarked on a strategic initiative to enter the electric vehicle (EV) market. The company is focusing on the assembly and supply of electric automobiles and buses, aligning with Ethiopia’s growing demand for sustainable transport solutions. This shift comes at a critical time, as fuel shortages have prompted many urban areas, particularly in Tigray, to seek electric alternatives. Abri Motors’ move towards future-oriented transport solutions underscores the group’s commitment to strengthening industrial capacity and supporting Ethiopia’s modern economic development.
