Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS), Wins Global SDGs Award 2025
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – A project focused on addressing hate speech, misinformation, and disinformation in Tigrai, Ethiopia, has been recognized with the prestigious SDGs Award 2025. The initiative, titled “Localizing Peace and Engaging the Victims: Towards Addressing the Challenges Posed by Hate Speech, Misinformation, and Disinformation in Tigrai”, was selected from over 70 projects worldwide.
Implemented by Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS), the project aims to foster peace and provide technological solutions to help communities mitigate the social and informational challenges that exacerbate conflict and societal tension.
In a statement, representatives of STS expressed gratitude to the global community for supporting the initiative. They highlighted the award as a milestone that reinforces their mission to leverage technology in promoting social cohesion and community development.
The SDGs Award recognizes projects that make significant contributions toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on innovative approaches to social, environmental, and economic challenges.
The award is expected to provide the STS team with increased visibility and opportunities to expand their initiatives in Ethiopia and beyond, demonstrating the potential of technology-driven solutions in conflict-affected regions.
