Red Sea Afar Democratic Organisation Congratulates Ethiopia on GERD Inauguration
The Red Sea Afar Democratic Organisation (RSADO) has officially congratulated the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on the historic opening and operation of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). In a statement issued today, RSADO hailed the project as a landmark achievement that reflects Ethiopia’s collective determination to utilise its natural resources for sustainable development.
The organisation emphasised that the GERD stands as a symbol of Ethiopia’s resilience, unity, and sovereign rights, benefiting both present and future generations. It highlighted the dam’s potential to strengthen Ethiopia’s position in Africa and on the international stage, while also underscoring the importance of collaborative economic and developmental initiatives in the Horn of Africa and Red Sea region to foster peace, stability, and cooperation.
RSADO further expressed hope that the Eritrean people will eventually gain access to their rightful share of development and maritime resources, once the current dictatorial regime in Asmara is replaced by a democratic system prioritising the welfare of the people.

Concluding the statement, RSADO extended its best wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Ethiopia, affirming that the GERD should serve as a symbol of peace, development, and African unity.
“Honour to the sovereignty of nations and triumph for our people,” the organisation affirmed.
