Addis Chamber discusses with the Indian Embassy in Addis to promote trade and investment

They vow to unlock new opportunities for growth, trade, and investment.

(February 27, 2026) A high level leadership from Addis chamber led by the Secretary General , Mr. Zekarias Asefa have discussed with the Indian embassy to bolster trade and investment between the two nations.

The team from Addis Chamber is warmly welcomed by sahil Ahuja chief of commercial Councilor (attache) at the embassy.

Addis Chambers’s Secretary General during the discussion said that Ethiopia and India are countries with long years of diplomatic relations.

Addis chamber is also a long time partner of the embassy to enhance the business to business relations and explore diverse opportunities that both countries offers, he said.

Chief of commercial attache on his part said this kind of partnership will unlock both countries’ economic potentials notably by interconnecting businesses of both countries.

The commercial attache at the Embassy also said the collaboration between the two entities is critical in strengthening cooperation and expressed the interest of the embassy to boost the relationship of the two countries in business and economic aspects.

Zekarias Asefa, Secretary General of Addis Chamber also said that the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa plays a pivotal role in fostering both domestic and international economic relations.

He therefore said the chamber recognizes the importance of building and nurturing a robust trade relationship with India and different chambers across the country.

According to the discussion trade between the two nations has immense untapped potentials.

Therefore, the chamber and the embassy are eager to explore new opportunities that can further increase trade volumes and foster a win-win partnership for businesses in both countries.
