Gumaye Foundation and Gezae Abera Generosity Sign Partnership to Support Vulnerable Elders and Children
Alaje–Betmera, Southern Tigray, December 31, 2025 – The Gumaye Foundation (GF) and Gezae Abera Generosity (GAG) have officially signed a three-year partnership agreement to implement the Community-Based Vulnerable Elders and Children Support Project (CBVECSP) in Alaje–Betmera, Southern Tigray. The project, set to commence in January 2026, will address the pressing needs of vulnerable elders and children in the region.

With an initial budget of ETB 1,341,000.00, the project will be funded with 72% of the costs covered by GAG and 28% contributed by GF. The initiative is designed to provide community-based support and social protection mechanisms for vulnerable groups, aiming to improve their well-being in a post-crisis environment.
In a statement, both organizations emphasized the importance of transparency, community participation, and sustainable impact as core pillars of the project. They reiterated their commitment to working collaboratively to meet the needs of those affected by the ongoing challenges in the region.

The project is expected to expand in both quality and outreach over the course of its implementation, benefiting vulnerable elders and children who have been severely impacted by recent socio-political upheaval in the area.
As part of the initiative, both GF and GAG have called on philanthropists, donors, and potential project partners to join the effort and contribute to this goodwill project aimed at improving lives in Southern Tigray.
The partnership marks a significant step towards rebuilding and supporting vulnerable populations, with a focus on creating long-lasting, positive change for the most at-risk community members.
