Abri Motors, Wuling Reaffirm Partnership Following High Level Meeting

Addis Ababa โ€“ Abri Motors has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its partnership with Chinese automobile manufacturer Wuling following a high level meeting with the company’s African leadership.

The meeting brought together executives from Abri Motors and Wuling, including Janni and Usha, Wuling’s Director for Africa, to discuss ongoing cooperation and future business opportunities.

According to Abrehet Ayele, Chief Executive Officer of Abri General Business Group, the discussions were constructive and underscored both companies’ shared commitment to strengthening their strategic relationship in the Ethiopian market.

A key outcome of the meeting was the positive reception of the Yangguang Electric Passenger Van, a 14 seat electric vehicle that attracted significant interest during the discussions. Ayele said the model reflects Wuling’s commitment to innovation and quality while aligning with the companies’ common vision of advancing sustainable mobility solutions.

She also acknowledged the gesture of goodwill extended by the visiting delegation, expressing appreciation for the gift presented during the visit and describing it as a symbol of the strong relationship between the two organizations.

Abri Motors stated that it intends to build on the momentum created by the meeting by deepening collaboration with Wuling across areas of mutual interest. The company expressed confidence that the strengthened partnership will contribute to the continued introduction of innovative mobility solutions and support the long term growth objectives of both businesses.

The meeting comes as demand for electric mobility solutions continues to grow in Ethiopia, with automotive companies increasingly exploring partnerships to expand the availability of electric commercial and passenger vehicles in the local market.
