Abu Dhabi, UAE — Ethiopia’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Ambassador Jemal Beker (PhD), said he held discussions with Ethiopian diplomats, embassy staff, and community leaders in Abu Dhabi on the country’s recent national election and Ethiopia’s diplomatic and development priorities.
According to the ambassador, the meeting focused on the significance of Ethiopia’s 7th National Election, which he described as a historic milestone that goes beyond a democratic exercise. He said the election represents an important step toward national unity and serves as a foundation for the country’s future development and progress.

The ambassador also commended the commitment of Ethiopian diplomats to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and advancing its diplomatic interests internationally. He said embassy staff reaffirmed their dedication to supporting Ethiopia’s foreign policy objectives.
During the meeting, Ethiopian community leaders in the United Arab Emirates expressed their readiness to work closely with the incoming government in support of the country’s development agenda, according to the ambassador.

Jemal emphasized the importance of the philosophy of Medemer, or synergy, stating that collective efforts and national unity are essential to overcoming challenges and promoting Ethiopia’s continued development and prosperity.
The remarks were made during a meeting with diplomats, embassy personnel, and members of the Ethiopian community in Abu Dhabi.
