30 Young Women Complete Training on Feminist Peacebuilding and Digital Advocacy in Tigray

Thirty young women from Tigray have successfully completed a two-day training focused on Feminist Peacebuilding, Gendered Conflict Analysis, and Digital Advocacy. The training was organized by Gorzo – A Movement to Empower Women as part of the Her Peace, Her Power: Pathways to Peacebuilding initiative.

The program, supported through the Peace Program Grant of the FemPeaceEA Project and funded by BMZ (the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development), aimed to strengthen women’s roles in peacebuilding processes and promote gender-responsive approaches to post-conflict recovery.

According to organizers, the workshop provided participants with tools to better understand the gender dimensions of conflict, advocate for women’s rights, and use digital platforms to amplify peace messages.

“The goal is to ensure that young women are not only part of peacebuilding discussions but are also leading them,” a Gorzo representative said.

Participants engaged in discussions and practical sessions on conflict analysis, feminist perspectives on peace, and online advocacy strategies. The initiative also encouraged collaboration among women-led organizations and youth groups working toward sustainable peace in Tigray.

The project reflects growing regional and international efforts to include women and youth in peace processes, aligning with the principles of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agendas.

Through initiatives like Her Peace, Her Power, partners aim to amplify women’s voices, strengthen local peace networks, and contribute to a more inclusive and resilient future for Tigray and beyond.
