Prosperity Party Introduces Candidates for Seventh National Election in Addis Ababa
The Prosperity Party has held a forum in Addis Ababa to introduce its candidates who will represent the capital in Ethiopia’s upcoming seventh national election.
According to information released by the party’s Addis Ababa branch office, the candidates will compete for seats in the House of Peoples’ Representatives and the Addis Ababa City Council.

Speaking at the event, Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie said the purpose of the forum was to strengthen coordination and ensure that the party fulfills its responsibilities in the lead up to the election. She stated that the objective is to work collectively to help ensure the successful conduct of the seventh national vote.
Adanech said the government has managed to deliver results despite challenging circumstances. She added that the party intends to continue working toward what she described as a strong electoral performance guided by its policies and principles.
The mayor also emphasized that governments are formed through elections and the will of the people. She said efforts are underway to promote a new political culture in Ethiopia and noted that attention should focus not only on the outcome of the election but also on the credibility and democratic nature of the electoral process.

At the same forum, Moges Balcha, head of the Addis Ababa branch of the Prosperity Party, said national challenges cannot be resolved through borrowed ideological frameworks. He described the party’s political approach as being rooted in the concept of Medemer, which promotes collective effort and comprehensive prosperity.

Moges also said the party is working to strengthen participatory democracy, which he described as a key foundation for state building. According to him, the party has presented qualified candidates who reflect diversity and a people centered approach as it prepares to compete in the upcoming election.
