Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Reviews Service Reforms at Immigration and Citizenship Services
Addis Ababa — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Monday visited the Immigration and Citizenship Services to assess recent improvements in service delivery and institutional facilities.
During the visit, officials briefed the Prime Minister on reforms introduced to streamline procedures, reduce processing times, and improve the overall experience for citizens and foreign residents seeking immigration and citizenship services. The upgrades include operational changes and facility improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency and accountability.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Immigration and Citizenship Services is among the priority institutions under the government’s ongoing public service reform agenda led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The focus reflects broader efforts to modernize state institutions and improve access to essential government services.

The Prime Minister also reviewed working conditions for staff and underscored the importance of professionalism, transparency, and citizen centered service delivery as part of Ethiopia’s wider civil service reform program.
The visit came a day after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed concluded a one day working visit to Djibouti, where he held bilateral engagements focused on cooperation and regional interests.
