Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations Holds General Assembly, Approves 2026 Strategic Plan
The Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations held its General Assembly on March 28, 2026, at Harmony Hotel in Addis Ababa, bringing together member organizations to review performance and set priorities for the coming year.

The Assembly served as the organization’s key governance platform, where members reviewed and approved the 2025 annual performance report. The report assessed major achievements, challenges, and lessons learned during the past year, providing members with an opportunity to reflect on progress and identify areas requiring further attention.
Participants also endorsed the 2026 annual plan, which outlines strategic priorities intended to guide the network’s activities over the next year. According to participants, the plan focuses on strengthening coordination among member organizations, expanding advocacy efforts, and improving program impact related to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The meeting also included discussions on broader strategic issues affecting women’s rights and gender equality in Ethiopia. Members exchanged views on current challenges, emerging opportunities, and ways to enhance collaboration among civil society organizations working in the sector.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to working collectively to strengthen institutional capacity and improve the effectiveness of initiatives aimed at advancing women’s rights across the country.
The General Assembly concluded with agreement on key priorities and a shared commitment among member organizations to implement the approved plan and reinforce cooperation in the year ahead.
