ENDC Hosts UN Assistant Secretary-General

The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) hosted Ahunna Eziakonwa, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa, during an official engagement held at the Commission’s headquarters. The meeting was attended by delegates from the UNDP Ethiopia program.

In his opening remarks, ENDC’s Chief Commissioner Mesfin Araya briefed Ms. Eziakonwa and the UNDP delegation on the Commission’s key achievements to date, as well as the remaining activities in the national dialogue process.
He highlighted the ongoing regional dialogue initiatives in the Tigray Region, noting that upon the completion of the regional consultations, the Commission will move forward with preparations for the national dialogue plenary.
As part of the briefing, Commissioner Bilen Gebremedhin presented updates on the Commission’s digitalization and documentation efforts, outlining initiatives aimed at strengthening data management, transparency, and institutional memory throughout the dialogue process.

The meeting concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing Ms. Eziakonwa and the UNDP delegation to seek further clarification on various aspects of the Commission’s work and future plans.

The ENDC reaffirmed its commitment to sustained engagement and partnership with both local and international organizations as part of its broader effort to ensure an inclusive, transparent, and credible national dialogue process.
