Abri Motors Awards Free Scholarships to 10 Women in Tigray
Abri Motors, a company under the Abri General Business Group known for importing and assembling electric vehicles in Ethiopia, has awarded free scholarships to 10 female employees of the Tigray Roads and Transport Bureau.
The initiative comes as the bureau works to modernize the region’s transport services, including the rollout of an electronic ticketing system aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery. To support this effort, Abri Motors signed a joint agreement with the bureau to fully cover the educational costs of the selected employees as part of a broader human resource development program.
According to the agreement, one of the beneficiaries will continue her education at the 9th grade level, three will pursue undergraduate degree programs, and six will study at the master’s degree level.
Abrehat Ayele, Chief Executive Officer of Abri Business Group, said the scholarship program reflects the company’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development. She noted that the group, particularly Abri Motors, is working in line with the government’s Green Legacy initiative to help address environmental pollution while also supporting women’s education, economic participation, and leadership development.

Headquartered in Djibouti, the company operates offices and vehicle assembly facilities in Mekelle and Addis Ababa. It also offers flexible vehicle financing options such as 30/70, 40/60, and 50/50 payment arrangements, enabling customers to obtain vehicles within one, two, or three months.
