Raya University has reported the completion of a two day training program focused on curriculum revision in line with national differentiation and institutional reform policies, according to a statement published on the university’s official Facebook account.
The training, conducted from December 27 to 28, was organized by the university’s Academic Program Directorate in collaboration with the Mission and Focus Area Implementation Office and the Quality Education Enhancement Directorate. It targeted middle and senior level academic administrators across the institution.

According to the post, the program centered on Ethiopia’s higher education reform agenda, with an emphasis on curriculum revision, program differentiation, and accreditation as mechanisms for improving academic quality and relevance.
The training was officially opened and closed by Dr. Nega Afera, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Raya University. In remarks cited in the post, he highlighted the role of accreditation and differentiation in strengthening the quality, relevance, and impact of higher education programs.
The university’s Facebook statement also noted that Dr. Qesis Nigus Mesele, Director of the Mission and Focus Area Implementation Office, addressed key drivers of quality improvement, including focus areas, indigenous knowledge integration, needs assessment, and program accreditation.
Mr. Tesfay Haregewyne, Academic Program Director, presented on curriculum review frameworks, outcome based education, required inputs for curriculum revision, and implementation planning, the post said.
Participants included college deans, directors, department heads, program coordinators, and quality assurance experts. They discussed challenges related to curriculum revision and presented course audit reports from their respective colleges.
According to the university, participants said the training equipped them with practical knowledge to ensure academic programs meet quality standards, promote innovation, and respond to the demands of the digital learning environment.

In closing remarks referenced in the post, Dr. Nega Afera stated that the training was intended to standardize educational quality across the university and clarify expectations for academic leaders.
